I think it is fair to assume, the best bowl game this year is the 2011 Tostitos BCS National Championship Game. It involves two teams that have never played for the BCS Title. Both the Ducks and the Auburn Tigers have been snubbed by the BCS before. Finally, you have the PAC 10 vs the SEC for the first time in the BCS Championship Game. With this in mind, this poll does not include the National Championship Game. There are other great games though.

The Ducks are known for having new uniforms made by Nike for each game, and the 2011 Tostitos BCS National Championship is no different. Since the Ducks finished #2 in the final BCS poll, they have to wear white uniforms. This somewhat limits the possibilities of different uniforms Nike could come with.

Anyways, what do you think of the new uniforms (pictured) the Ducks will be wearing?

The Alabama Crimson Tide lost a defensive slugfest versus the LSU Tigers at home in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The final score was 9-6 that ended in overtime, but Bama missed four field goals in the game. This left many unsure of who has the better team.

The Clemson Tigers will face the Virginia Tech Hokies in Charlotte, NC on Sat, Dec 3 at 8:00 PM ET in the 2011 ACC Championship Game for a spot in a BCS Bowl Game. These two teams met in week five when Clemson dominated the Hokies in their house 23-3. At that time, the Tigers were on fire. They beat the Auburn Tigers, the FSU Seminoles, and then the Hokies in a row.

Since their first meeting, the Hokies have been dominating their competition and enter the ACC Championship with a seven game winning streak. The Tigers, on the other hand, have struggled, losing three of their last four games. Generally speaking, Clemson has the better offense and VA Tech has the better defense. I expect a better game this time around. The Tigers have lost whatever spark was carrying them earlier in the season, and the Hokies seemed to have found it.

I think the Hokies will not only win this game, but they will completely turn the tide on the Tigers and dominate them. What do you think?

Notre Dame may get another shot at a team that dealt it a defeat last season.

Coach Muffet McGraw’s women’s basketball team will play in the 2011 Pre-season Women’s National Invitation Tournament.

Notre Dame, which reached the national championship game last season, is on the opposite side of the 16-team bracket from Baylor and UCLA.

Baylor, ranked No. 1 in a number of preseason polls, defeated Notre Dame, 76-65, in Waco, Texas, last season. The Bears feature 6-foot-8 All-American Brittney Griner. UCLA beat Notre Dame in South Bend, 86-83, in double overtime.

As the top seed, Baylor likely would host a possible game against Notre Dame. If Baylor is upset, and Notre Dame advances throughout, the Irish would likely host the final.

Notre Dame won the WNIT preseason crown in 2004, and finished third in 1996 and 2007.

The Irish will open pre-season WNIT play on Friday, Nov. 11, against Akron. Akron loses just one senior from last season. The Zips finished 14-16. The Zips posted a school-best record of 18-14 in 2009-10.

The second-round opponent for Notre Dame would be the winner of the Detroit-Indiana State game.

2011 BCS Championship Game: Oregon Ducks D-Line vs Auburn Tigers O-Line, Who Controls the Trenches?

While Oregon's LaMichael James, winner of the Doak Walker Award, and Auburn's Cameron Newton, winner of the Heisman Trophy, are the faces of their programs, I don't believe how they each play will determine the outcome of the 2011 BCS National Championship Game. Both James and Newton are too good of players to be completely shut down all game. They may be slowed down for a part of the game, but eventually they are going to get their stats.

Instead, I believe this game will be decided on whether the Oregon Offensive Line can keep Auburn's DT Nick Fairley from annihilating their QB Darron Thomas. The Ducks have not faced a player on the same level as Fairley. He is a true game changer and has the ability to completely take over a game by dominating an offensive line.

Cam Newton's 49 yard TD run against LSU is usually the play people discuss from that game. It is widely considered Cam Newton's "Heisman Moment" and that game is when the Heisman had become his to lose. He had 217 yards rushing with TD's in the win over the Tigers from Baton Rouge. However, Cam Newton was not the player of the game. Instead, Nick Fairley was player of the game against LSU (see highlights below). He finished with 2 and 1/2 sacks and 3 1/2 tackles for loss. As the highlights show he single handedly put an end to LSU drives.

Two other highlight videos of Fairley in big SEC games against UGA and Alabama are also attached. Again, in both games his play was key in the Tigers win. If he is able to do this to Oregon's Line it is going to be a long day for their offense. However, Oregon's line has experience and like Nick Fairley, they have dominated games. The unit is ranked 5th in the nation for sacks allowed giving up less than 1 game (.67 to be exact) so Thomas has not been on his back a lot this season.

Will the offensive line prevail or Will Nick Fairley dominate the game?

The way the current system is playing out seems unfair to me. In week ten of the 2011 college football season, the LSU Tigers traveled to Tuscaloosa, AL and beat the Alabama Crimson Tide in overtime. Therefore, LSU was able to win the SEC West over Bama.

Right now it appears that Bama and LSU will play each other in the BCS National Championship Game. Because LSU beat Bama, they are being forced to play the SEC Championship Game versus the #14 Georgia Bulldogs, while Alabama gets to sit at home and begin bowl preparation a week early. Essentially, by losing to LSU, Bama was given a bye-week while the winning team has to play an extra game against a formidable opponent.

Is this fair? Should Bama be given the de facto bye-week?

The Boise State Broncos find themselves undefeated, and once again it seems as though they have no shot of getting into the BCS National Championship Game. If there is either no undefeated or only one other undefeated team, Does Boise State Deserve a Chance in the BCS Championship Game?

I'm not going to break down all the major flaws with this ridiculous logic...I'm just going to mention the 800 pound gorilla people ignore when talking about the "Heisman Trophy Curse." And that's the SEC. Both the Florida Gators Tim Tebow and the Alabama Crimson Tide's Mark Ingram won a Heisman and National Championships. Tebow won one the year after winning his Heisman, and Ingram won both in the same year.

The SEC is also the reason some Heisman winners never won a championship. OU's QB, Jason White, won a Heisman but lost to LSU in the National Championship Game. Troy Smith and Sam Bradford both won the Heisman, but both then lost to Florida in the Championship Game.

I actually live in Eugene, OR and have heard some of the local radio hosts saying the Oregon Ducks will be motivated after Heisman Trophy Runner-up LaMichael James lost to Cam. Really? They need a Heisman loss to be motivated for the Championship Game...I'll have to disagree. At least I hope not. The words "BCS NATIONAL TITLE" should be enough to motivate someone.

The first PAC 12 Championship Game will be held on Fri, Dec 2, 2011 at 8:00 PM ET when the UCLA Bruins travel to Autzen Stadium in Eugene, OR to play the Oregon Ducks. The Bruins are 6-6 and are coming off a 50-0 blowout loss to their main rival, the USC Trojans. UCLA has been far from stellar this season, and even suffered an embarrassing loss to the non-BCS Houston Cougars in week one.

On the other hand, the Ducks have had a pretty good season. To some Oregon fans, this season might be somewhat of a letdown. Last year, the Ducks were undefeated in the regular season but lost to the Auburn Tigers in the BCS National Championship Game. Many, if not most, Ducks fans were expecting to make it back to the big game again, but had their dreams shattered after losing to the LSU Tigers in week one

The winner clinches a bid to go to the Rose Bowl to face the winner of the Big 10 Championship Game. As 30½-point favorites, is there anyway the Ducks can actually lose to the Bruins? Seriously, does UCLA have any shot at pulling the major upset?
