Last I heard Ben Flajnik, Ames Brown, and Ryan Parks, all from Ashley Hebert’s The Bachelorette, were in line as possibilities to be the next “Bachelor.”  Then a few days ago, I read that Ben was in front of cameras in San Francisco goofing around and talking to the cameras.   To me that’s strong evidence that Ben is the new Bachelor.  So Ames has been eliminated which is sad but maybe his intense relationship with Jackie Gordon, that developed on The Bachelor Pad 2 recently, deterred producers from signing him.  He was so sweet, pink pants and all, running after her limo and jumping in to exit the Bachelor Pad courtyard with her.  He couldn’t have been more romantic and that stunt should be preserved in The Bachelor Pad “best moments” archives.  Unfortunately, someone told me they already broke up.  Then there is Ryan Parks, he probably worried producers because there were some issues with viewer likability.  I liked him but many thought he was just too energetic.   So why did they pick Ben?  At times he seemed disconnected from his emotions and way too laid back to generate much TV momentum.  In contrast, Ryan Parks may generate too much momentum leading to some kind of explosion.   Ames had a geeky charisma that might have been magic if he had been picked.

Brad Womack says he's ready to get married and that this time on The Bachelor he's in it to find his wife.  Well, soon we will know for sure who Brad picks.  Since Brad is looking for a wife we should assume he looking for marriage material.  The more I see of the show the more I get convinced that he should pick Emily Maynard. Even though she is younger then Chantal O'Brien she appears to be more mature and ready for the journey of marriage.  I also wonder if Chantal's recent divorce makes her less ready for being a wife at this point in her life. Which woman?  Would Emily Maynard or Chantal O'Brien make the best wife for Brad?

It's obvious that the top criteria for selecting a female contestant for The Bachelor is attractiveness. A few of the women go beyond attractive to down right sexy.  It is no surprised to me that Chantal O'Brien and Emily Maynard are the final two ladies trying to win Brad Womack's heart.  I picked these women as the final two from the beginning  because, in my opinion, they're the two sexist females of the bunch.  Who do you think is sexier Emily or Chantal?

"It's certainly not all roses, but I'm confident about how I feel about him," Emily said on The Bachelor Finale, "I really do love him."  But there's already trouble for Brad Womack and Emily Maynard.  They got engaged on the show, but Emily says they need to figure out a few things...."Like how we fight and how we communicate."  Brad admits he is able to lose his temper.  Things are moving slow and Emily has not moved across country to Brad's hometown of Austin Texas.  Since they are already showing signs of rockiness. Watching the actual show with Brad has caused the biggest problems for Emily. She says she couldn't believe he would do so many of the same things with her as he did with everyone else. She thought some things should have been special and only between her and Brad.

ABC producers are considering Ames Brown, Ryan Park and Ben Flajnik for the next Bachelor.  An insider says that Flajnik is the favorite among the women trying out for the show and a favorite with the crew as well.  He’s getting all sorts of attention after going out for drinks with Jennifer Love Hewitt last week.  He may have gotten second place to JP Rosenbaum, but he’s making up for it now.  Chris Harrison says that “Everyone wants to realize the man he really is.  He’s in the right place to find love.”   I wouldn’t count Ames or Ryan out yet.  They have a lot to offer the show, but right now Ben seems to be standing out.

Recently news has hit the media that former Bachelor contestant Brad Womack and his 

fiance Emily Maynard have broken up.  They have each been very open about why their relationship didn’t last.  Brad Womack puts all the blame on himself and points out that he didn’t protect her from the media.   Emily gives multiple reasons for the couples demise.  Some reasons are obvious, they lived 1200 miles away from each other and there was non stop media attention and paparazzi following their every move.  Most Bachelor viewers weren’t surprised that their relationship didn’t stand the test of time.  The interesting thing is both Brad and Emily don’t seem to rule out the idea of a reconciliation.  When Emily was asked she stated “I don’t know, right now, I need a break from everything.  I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future.  I know that I love him, and more than anything he’s been a friend to me.”  Brad tells us he will never get over Emily.  “She was the one, she’s the only woman I’ve ever wanted to marry.  I will always be in love with Em.” 

I’m with most of the Bachelor viewers who didn’t think they would last.  First of all, I don’t Emily is ready to get married, she still needs more time to get her family situated, to finish grieving for her daughters father, and she never seemed interested in Brad.   Brad needs a bunch more years of therapy.  Apparently, he has a temper and continues to blame himself for everything that goes wrong.

As The Bachelor season is winding down Brad Womack keeps coming up in the headlines.  Howard Stern, self proclaimed "KIng of Media," talked about him in a recent interview.  He admitted watching The Bachelor with his wife, Beth.  He said "When I lay in bed with my wife and we watch 'The Bachelor,'  she thinks I am a better catch after she watches that moron Bachelor,"  Stern continued.  "That guy is the biggest dummy.  He's a very good looking guy, but he's got the personality of an eggplant."

Brad Womack has picked his final two ladies on The Bachelor.  Soon the final rose will be handed out to one of these two women.  They are Emily Maynard who is a single mother of a beautiful five year-old and Chantal O'Brien the recent divorcee looking for a second chance at love.  We've watched Brad's love story with both women and soon the story will end for one and the real "love story" will begin for the other.  Should Brad Womack pick Emily Maynard or Chantal O'Brien?
