In the recent Modern Family, Haley, Alex, and Luke walk in on their parents, Phil and Claire, having sex in the morning before taking them to school...haha. I can't say that ever happened to me and thank God it didn't. That's horrific, but the parents are dumb for not having a lock on their door. The clip provided is the end of the show, and the kids had purchased their parents a lock. However, the lock made it more obvious when the parents wanted privacy because it makes a loud thud when locked.

Have you ever walked in on your parents having sex?

Modern Family began airing in September 2009 and critics immediately praised the show. Viewers found it funny, sharp, versatile and thought-provoking. The show does what the title says; a father and his adult children, who have their own familys, lead their lives and interact. There's a gay couple, a May-December marriage, adoption and various ethnicities represented on the show. I haven't seen Modern Family but after reading up on it I'll have to check it out. To those of you familiar with the show: do you think it deserved the five Emmys it earned Sunday night?

At last year's Emmys, after its first season, Modern Family received nominations in five categories, including Best Supporting nominations for five of its actors. Eric Stonestreet, who plays Cameron, won Best Supporting Actor, and the series won Best Writing and Best Comedy Series. So it wasn't a surprise when the 2011 Emmys nominations included Modern Family as a contender in five categories, with nods toward ten writers, directors or actors. In the Best Supporting Actor category, four of the six nominations went to Modern Family cast members; Ty Burrell, who plays Phil, won the Emmy. Overall the show took home five awards, including Best Comedy for the second year in a row.

The other shows nominated for Best Comedy were just as deserving. Fans of The Office, Parks and Recreation, Glee, 30 Rock and The Big Bang Theory may not think Modern Family should have won. Julie Bowen's Best Supporting Actress win ousted last year's winner and this year's host, Jane Lynch. The Best Supporting Actor award could easily have gone to Chris Colfer for playing Kurt on Glee. I would have loved to see The Office win for writing or How I Met Your Mother win for directing. Like I said, I haven't seen Modern Family, so you tell me if they deserved to sweep the Comedy categories at the Emmys!
