There is a lot to be impressed with on the hit show The Sing Off. It’s over flowing with talent and each group has a signature stamp they bring on stage. I just got through watching the “guilty pleasures” episode and was delighted by the originality and energy of the performances. The thing that really makes the show for me are the rare surprises-other than week to week improvements seen in the groups. The judging is the best I have seen on a show like this. Compared to DWTS and American Idol these three judges, Ben Folds, Sarah Bareilles and Shawn Stockman, are serious, knowledgable, fair and kind. I think Ben Folds must be a musical genius. They skip the silly stuff that we see in Bruno Tonioli, the self absorption of JLo, and the shallowness of Steven Tyler. Moreover, the show doesn’t rely on a popular vote which really can mess the results up and cause week by week disappointment. Overall, I give the show an A+. The Sing Off: Is it the best talent show out there?
