Throughout the first two episodes of Jersey Shore Season 4 in Florence, Italy, Deena Nicole Cortese lets us know that she finds Pauly D DelVecchio to be irresistibly cute. She holds nothing back, clearly stating she would like to at least hook up with Pauly D initially, and then eventually allow him to "Smush," the term used by the cast of Jersey Shore to refer to having sex.
In episode 2, the entire cast, as we have come accustom to witnessing, goes out to the local clubs in Florence. While in a club, Deena makes her move cornering Pauly D up against a wall and starts making out with him in front of all of the roommates. Pauly D does not push her away, but actually seems to enjoy it as he is seen carrying a smile from cheek to cheek while they make out. Shortly thereafter, the crew calls it a night and heads back to the Jersey Shore house to sleep.
Deena, however, has other plans. She wants to hook up with or at least snuggle with Pauly D once they get back. So once finally home, Deena gets into more comfortable clothing and tries joining Pauly D in his bed. However, when she gets to his bedroom, she finds him already asleep. After a few half-assed attempts at waking him up, Deena gives up and goes to her own bedroom to sleep.
After she leaves and it is clear that she is no longer in range of viewing Pauly, we see his eyes open. While we aren't told, we are left with the impression that Pauly faked falling asleep to get out of having to smush or hook up with Deena.
Without a doubt, Deena wants some Pauly D in her life, however, we aren't really sure how he feels about her. Him faking being asleep suggests he is trying to avoid her. This is possibly true, but it doesn't mean that it will never happen. The cast just got to Florence and will be sharing many evenings partying together. When people party too hard and have too much to drink, which is a favorite Jersey Shore past time, things happen.
(Man + Alcohol) + (Woman + Alcohol) + (Club Scene) = Smushfest!
I guarantee Deena will try numerous times throughout the season to hook up with Pauly D, but will she be successful in her conquest of the DJ? Will Pauly D DelVecchio and Deena Nicole Cortese end up Smushing?
