The Oklahoma Sooners will have to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys without their star wide receiver Ryan Broyles. Broyles has been quarterback Landry Jones main target all season connecting 83 times for 1157 yards and ten touchdowns.

Can Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State without Ryan Broyles?

The Oklahoma Bedlam Game between the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners is being played for its 106th time on Saturday, December 3rd in Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, OK. OSU still has an outside chance of getting into the BCS National Championship Game with a big win versus the Sooners.

Who Do You Think Will Win This Game?

The Oklahoma State Cowboys finished 3rd in the Final BCS Standings even though they blew-out the #10 Oklahoma Sooners in their final game of the season. They were ranked behind the Alabama Crimson Tide and will not go to the BCS National Championship Game at the Sugar Bowl.

This seems unfair to many. OSU beat seven teams with an above .500 win percentage to Bama's three, and they won four games against ranked opponents to Bama's three. Also, Alabama has already played the LSU Tigers and lost at home this season. OSU should get their shot!

The argument against the Cowboys is the fact they lost to a 6-6 Iowa State team and Bama lost against the #1 LSU Tigers. This is clearly a worse loss. Many have also stated that they know the Tide is better than the Cowboys even though they haven't played. This is purely subjective speculation.

I think OSU was ripped off by the BCS, do you agree?

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are behind the Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS Rankings. The Cowboys have one more game left versus a top ten opponent in the Oklahoma Sooners. Alabama has already played the LSU Tigers and lost at home.

Through the first eleven weeks of the 2011 college football season, the Stanford Cardinal's quarterback, Andrew Luck, dominated the Heisman Trophy race and discussion. However, following a close win to the USC Trojans and then losing the next week to the Oregon Ducks, Luck no longer leads in the race for the Heisman Trophy Award. Instead, the quarterback of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Brandon Weeden, is now considered the front-runner.

Weeden has led the Cowboys to an undefeated season thus far and has them currently ranked #2 in the BCS standings. Though he is currently the leader, he has not separated himself from the rest of the hopefuls. He does, however, still have to play the #5 Oklahoma Sooners. If the Cowboys beat the Sooners, then they are going to the BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans, LA. One of the major, if not most important qualifications needed by a quarterback to win the award is to have his team in contention for the National Championship. The only thing that can stop the Cowboys from going to the BCS Title Game is if the Sooners beat them.

If Weeden is able to beat the Sooners and has a descent to good game will he win the Heisman Trophy Award?

Currently, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are #3 in the BCS Rankings behind the Alabama Crimson Tide and the LSU Tigers. Next weekend, OSU plays the #10 Oklahoma Sooners for the Big 12 Championship. The LSU Tigers will be playing in the SEC Championship Game versus the Georgia Bulldogs. Alabama, however, will not be playing because their season is over after having lost the SEC West to LSU.

If OSU beats Oklahoma by a blowout, will they be able to jump Bama in the BCS?

While at a recent Cowboys game, the couple seen in the video started getting it on...the Cowboys do suck, so you might as well entertain yourself in other ways :)

However, what if you were in the crowd when this was going on. Would you encourage it like the people in the video or would you be pissed? Record it and upload it to YouTube? Or Report it to Security?

The Cowboys have been the big boys in the state of Texas forever. However, the Houstan Texans have been slowly but surely building a great team and catching up over the years. This year, the Texans are 2-0 and the Cowboys are 0-2. Are the Texans now already the best team in Texas? If they beat Dallas this weekend, will that make Houstan the best team in Texas

DeMarco Murray was the guest host for Friday's portion of the Adrian Peterson Football Camp in Norman.

Murray, who was drafted in the third round by the Dallas Cowboys in April, took some time out to speak with The Oklahoman.

What is your favorite part about working camps like this?

Just interacting with the kids and seeing the smile on their face. It just kind of lights you up inside.

What was your first thought when you got drafted by the Cowboys?

Unbelievable. I never thought in a million years I would go there. Just right up the road from here. I just feel blessed and it is a great opportunity for me.

You have played in Cowboy Stadium before, but what is it like knowing that is your home stadium?

It is going to be crazy. They have a great facility and the stadium speaks for itself. It is a blessing and every home game is going to be fun.

What are you hearing about the current lockout situation?

I really don't know, everything is mixed signals. I hear two weeks, I hear one month, I hear August. I pretty much hear the same thing everybody else does, just looking at it on ESPN.

What was your most memorable game at Oklahoma?

Definitely my freshman year, the Texas game. It was mine and Sam's first year playing in that game and we made a point to not lose it. I ended up coming out 2-2 in my career, but those games are always fun.

What was your most memorable play at Oklahoma?

When I broke the touchdown record last year here (at Owen Field) against Iowa State. It was a great moment for me and just an unbelievable feeling.

Who is your NFL comparison at the running back?

I'd like to think Ladainian Tomlinson. The way he is so elusive and can run inside and outside, catch the ball out of the backfield and pick up blocks. I definitely try to model my game after him.

Is there any NFL defense you are excited to go against?

None of them. There is not a particular defense I'm looking forward to. We don't play the Steelers or Ravens this year, so that is a plus.

Robert Griffin III (RG3) is hands down the best college football player in the nation. The fact the Baylor Bears are not a good football team should not keep him from winning the award. Its not the Bears offense that is terrible, it is the Bears defense. The offense led by Griffin has played good enough in every game this year.

Even though his defense is terrible, Griffin has been able to lead the Bears to a 7-3 record with two more games left to play. Their three losses came against #3 Oklahoma State Cowboys, #14 Kansas State Wildcats, and #21 Texas A&M. His big wins of the season came against #14 TCU Horned Frogs and #5 Oklahoma Sooners.

The following are RG3's statistics

Robert Griffin III Total Season Statistics
  • Passing Statistics: 224 pass completions; 302 passing attempts; 3093 yards; 74.2 completion percentage; 10.24 yards per attempt, 77 yard long; 29 touchdowns; 5 interceptions
  • Rushing Statistics: 117 rushing attempts; 478 yards; 4.1 yard average per carry; 49 yard long; 5 touchdowns

On Thursday, September 9, 2011 the Arizona Wildcats visit the Oklahoma State Cowboys in week two of the 2011 college football season. Last week, the PAC 12 looked shaky:

It was clearly an embarrassing opening weekend for the new PAC 12 conference as the conference's reputation took a hit. However, Arizona can help the conference save face if the unranked Wildcats can defeat the #9 Cowboys.

I think it is going to be hard for the 14 point underdogs to go into Stillwater, Oklahoma and pull the upset. Oklahoma State's offense is too good, and I doubt Arizona will be able to stop wide receiver Justin Blackmon. For the upset to happen, Wildcats quarterback Nick Foles must repeat the 412 passing yards and five touchdowns performance he had in week one versus Northern Arizona. This time, however, he will not be facing an FCS defense.

In week 4 of the 2011 College Football Season, the Oklahoma State Cowboys will visit College Station to play the Texas A&M Aggies. This game has huge national and conference implications. The winner gets a leg up for the Big 12 South Title and keeps its BCS Championship dreams alive. The loser is most likely out of both. Last year, OSU beat TAMU by kicking a field goal at the end of the game in Stillwater, OK. The Aggies will be looking for revenge.

The Cowboys, arguably, have the best quarterback and wide receiver combo in the nation in Brandon Weeden to Justin Blackmon. The two have already hooked up 27 times for 329 yards and 3 touchdowns this season. However, the Cowboys aren't one dimensional with running back Joseph Randle, ranked number eight in the nation for total rushing yards. The Aggies will need their defense to slow down the Cowboys offense, and if they are able to do that they have plenty of fire power on offense to put up some points.

Stat Comparison of Both Teams
  • Rushing Offense - ranked 37; 193.00 rushing yards per game
  • Passing Offense - ranked 1; 408.00 passing yards per game
  • Total Offense - ranked 2; 601.00 total yards per game
  • Scoring Offense - ranked 3; 52.33 points per game
  • Rushing Defense - ranked 82; 171.33 rushing yards given up per game
  • Pass Defense - ranked 84; 242.33 passing yards given up per game
  • Total Defense - ranked 92; 413.67 total yards given up per game
  • Scoring Defense - ranked 76; 27.00 points given up per game
  • Rushing Offense - ranked 47; 176.00 rushing yards per game
  • Passing Offense - ranked 18; 311.50 passing yards per game
  • Total Offense - ranked 18; 487.50 total yards per game
  • Scoring Offense - ranked 17; 41.50 points per game
  • Rushing Defense - ranked 10; 67.50 rushing yards given up per game
  • Pass Defense - ranked 51; 199.50 passing yards given up per game
  • Total Defense - ranked 15; 267.00 total yards given up per game
  • Scoring Defense - ranked 9; 10.50 points given up per game
The Aggies are a four point favorite at home, and they have the front seven on defense to stop the Cowboys run game. However, I don't believe they have the back four to stop the Cowboys air attack. Hence, I believe OSU will in its fourth in a row against A&M.

Currently, the Oregon Ducks are ranked #4 in the BCS behind #3 Alabama, #2 Oklahoma State, and #1 LSU. Directly behind Oregon is Oklahoma at #5 and Arkansas at #6. The following is basically a few notes to consider when voting on this poll:

  • Oregon lost to #1 LSU Tigers
  • The best game left on Oregon's schedule is in this week's game of the week versus #18 USC Trojans.
  • Bama plays an FCS opponent this week, which should hurt them some in the BCS computer rankings.
  • Bama will most likely not play in the SEC Championship Game, and hence, they most likely won't win the SEC Title.
  • Oklahoma will play Oklahoma State in the last game of the season
  • Arkansas will travel to Baton Rouge to play LSU in the last weekend of the regular season
  • If Arkansas beats LSU, then there will be a tie between three one-loss SEC West teams. The SEC decides chooses a divisional representative in this scenario by checking the BCS rankings. If any of the three teams are within five spots of each other, then the SEC Western Title is given to the winner of the heads up match between the two highest ranked teams.
As you can see, there is a great possibility of total anarchy occurring this season. The question is, however...

Can the Oregon Ducks get to the BCS National Championship Game?

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State plans to start construction this summer on a new $16 million indoor practice facility that has been in the works for years.

Athletic director Mike Holder announced Tuesday that construction of the Sherman E. Smith Training Center will begin around Aug. 1. The Cowboys will become the last Big 12 team to have an indoor practice site for football.

Smith donated $20 million toward what was intended to be a $50 million facility when the gift was announced in January 2007, but construction was repeatedly delayed.

The training center was part of a the university's grand plan for an athletics village to be funded through a $165 million donation from T. Boone Pickens, but only renovations to the football stadium have been completed so far.

Pickens invested the money and at one point grew the funds to $407 million, but then lost $282 million when the economy faltered.

Smith passed away on June 6, and Holder said his family has allowed the university to use his gift to build the facility instead of as an endowment as it was originally announced.

"We owe another thank you to the Smith family," Holder said in a statement. "They have allowed us to use their gift for the construction of the indoor facility. Boone Pickens has made a testamentary gift that will provide for the endowment of the facility."

Holder said Oklahoma State is raising money to pay for three grass and turf practice fields that are already being built next to the Smith Center site, across the street from Boone Pickens Stadium. The estimated price tag for the fields is $3 million.
