Season 10 of American Idol has come to a close and now we have a new reigning champion, Scotty McCreery, the 17 year old from Garner,North Carolina. He auditioned for the show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the judges were very impressed from the start with his deep bass voice. At 12 or 13 he says, his mom told him that’s when his voice changed. She said, “It fell off a cliff.”Season 10 was a season full of changes too. Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler joined Randy Jackson on the judges panel, Jennifer brought her “pop” know how and Steven specialized in rock. Jimmy Iovine was brought in as “the mentor” and gave guidance to the contestants. Which I think brought more polish to this season’s singers. We witnessed a first ever save from elimination move. Singing for his life, Casey Abrams was interrupted by Randy and Steven, mid song, to be told they were using their one save to keep him in the competition. This season was full of firsts and changes.
