The 2011 BCS Championship game was not only a showcase of two talented college football teams playing for the National Title, but also involved a fairly new rivalry brewing in the sporting goods world between the "old timer" Nike and the new kid on the block Under Armour. The Ducks are Nike's pet project for show casing their new sporting apparel for college football, and the Tigers are Under Armour.

If I were Nike, I would fear Under Armour's sudden rise. Under Armour's UA and "Protect this House" slogan are new and fresh, while Nike's Swoosh and "Just Do It" have become stale. In my opinion, Under Armour has a tougher look than Nike. Nike is the good character that girls take to meet Mommy and Daddy. Under Armor has more sex appeal and portrays itself as more of a "bad boy" line of clothing. Below are the recent advertisements that both companies have created using Auburn and Oregon to market their new line of athletic gear.

Auburn Tigers & Under Armour vs Oregon Ducks & Nike, Who would you rather have sponsoring your team?
