Who was the more courageous performer: Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio, who came back from a heart attack, or Brock Mealer, brother of Michigan offensive lineman Elliott Mealer, who overcame an auto accident to lead the Wolverines onto the field for their opener?

What was the most exciting finish: MSU's "Little Giants" fake field goal in overtime against Norte Dame or U-M's 67-65, three-overtime, defense-be-damned gridiron thriller with Illinois?

Who had the most dominating performance: U-M quarterback Denard Robinson with 244 yards rushing and 258 yards passing against Notre Dame, or Illinois running back Mikel Leshoure, now a Lion, with 320 yards rushing in Wrigley Field against Northwestern?

Those are among the issues on the line tonight when the Big Ten Network holds its fourth annual BTN Awards Show. The one-hour live broadcast starts at 7:30.

The highlight will be the announcement of the Jesse Owens Award for top male athlete and the Suzy Favor Award for top female athlete.

Spartans and Wolverines will have a shot at winning in several categories. Robinson is a nominee in two categories, and his team has a shot in two others.
