The two quarterbacks that seem to be at the top of most people's 2011 NFL Draft Boards is Blaine Gabbert for the Missouri Tigers and the 2010 Heisman Trophy Winner, Cameron (Cam) Newton, from Auburn University.

Both quarterbacks were under the radar prior to the 2010 season, but shot up analysts draft boards after putting up impressive numbers. Gabbert has more experience than Newton having started two seasons as the Missouri QB, while Newton was a one-year wander for the Auburn Tigers.

Cam Newton's Statistics

Blain Gabbert's Statistics
Blain Gabbert Total Rushing Statistics: 112 rushing attempts; 232 yards rushing; 2.1 yard average per carry; 32 yard long; 5 TD's

Blaine Gabbert Total Passing Statistics: 301 pass completions; 475 pass attempts; 3186 passing yards; 63.4% completion percentage; 6.71 yards per pass attempt; 16 TD's; 9 interceptions; 186.8 passer rating

Skills Advantage: Newton or Gabbert
Armstrength: Advantage Newton

Accuracy: Advantage Newton by the numbers, but from viewing film I believe the Advantage is Gabbert

Running Ability: Advantage Newton

Experience: Tie - Newton played in hands down the toughest conference and against the best in the nation but for only one year. Gabbert played two years against lessor opponents.

Intangibles: Advantage Gabbert....too many off the field issues with Newton

Leadership: Advantage Newton on the field, Gabbert off the field

I can't really say I love either of the two, but if I had to take one with a high first round pick I would take Newton. I choose him because of the "what if" factor. He could end up amazing and revolutionize the quarterback position in the NFL, but he also could end up a bust.
