Kristin PaigeThis is a great concept to rally behind! I have been a student, mother, and vegetarian. When my schooling is finished I hope to find work that gets me involved in sustainable agriculture, environmental advocacy and food safety issues. CompassionatelyOur local animal welfare group Compassionate Dorset in the UK is the local supporter group for Compassion in World Farming - we empower consumers to make more compassionate food choices and our number 1 aim is to end factory farming and improve the lives of animals farmed for food. However, we also support Meat Free Monday, The Vegetarian Society and The Vegan Society as most of our group members happen to be vegetarian and some including our founder/co-ordinator are vegan (that’s me, Anna!), so we have a holistic and non-biased approach - giving people all the options from buying free range high welfare meat and dairy, to eating less meat, to even going vegetarian or vegan IF they are interested and IT DOES WORK : ) We believe that whatever our own personal ethical choices, everyone has a different idea of what being ethical or compassionate even means, and we must respect everyone’s choice (at least within the current legalities of the food industry). We recognise that most of the population eats meat and what we care about is the animals, so that’s why even the vegan members of our group support actively encouraging people to eat high welfare meat and dairy. If more people went vegetarian or vegan it would certainly help reduce the overwhelming and unsustainable demand on the farm animal industry and is probably the only way to know the food you eat hasn\'t caused any suffering to an animal, but most people could still be eating food from horrendous factory farms, and that most people agree, needs to stop. This is a great idea and we wish you all the best with it : ) Eleanor BrownThank you for your support and your comments, Tom, Kristin and Anna! |

Thanks for posting this. I\'m the one who has started the twitter, FB, and site. I hope that people will support this effort. My goal is to take Mr. Philpott\'s concept and make it a reality... and this can only be done with the support from those who believe in the concept of everyone teaming up for the common cause of stopping animal factory farming.
