On the first episode of Season 4 of the Jersey Shore, we learn Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi hooked up several times over the break and even ended up having sex.

On the one hand, upon arriving in Florence, Italy, we learn Snooki is in a serious relationship with Jionni LaValle and has all intentions of keeping that intact and staying with him throughout the season. She repeatedly expresses how happy he makes her and how great of a couple they make. Her stated intentions seem clear....do not screw this up and avoid all men not named Jionni. The Situation is not an option.

On the other hand, The Situation shows up with other ideas. In a strange twist of fate, we learn The Situation is actually developing strong feelings towards Snooki. Merely being Snooki's "friend with benefits" is not what he wants to be. He seems to actually genuinely want to start a serious relationship with Snooki.

In the season's first episode, we see him actually try to make a move to kiss her in the bar. Initially, it seems as though she wants it too, but then she pushes him aside and makes her way elsewhere in the bar. However, this rejection has not stopped The Situation and he seems to still be motivated to making her his special lady.

In the second episode, Mike actually brings home a one night stand from the bar. After finishing with hooking up with a random stranger he met at the bar, Snooki and Mike sort of snuggle together on the couch where he tries to tell her he thinks there is more between them than simply friends with benefits. Again, however, Snooki is able to flawlessly navigate herself around "The Situation."

So far nothing has happened between the two, but it is clear The Situation is pulling all the stops to get Snooki to view him in the same manner he views her. Will he succeed? Will Mike "The Situation" and Snooki end up dating?
