Should Republicans slash the Federal budget now?

A	Cutting the Federal budget now would be a disaster for the fragile global economy.

B	Cutting the Federal budget now would create private sector jobs and immediate economic growth.

Now that Republicans have control of the House of Representatives (and a firm grasp on the purse strings of America), should they immediately start slashing the Federal budget? They did in 1930, throwing the United States (and the developed world) into the Great Depression. Will the past mistakes of the GOP repeat themselves?

The Republicans just like to hear themselves speak complete nonsense. They know darn right they aren't going to "slash" the federal budget. The question I really would like answered is, how do you "slash" the federal budget and cut taxes at the same time? It's a nonsensical proposition.
