In the Case of Citizens United, the Supreme Court of Chief Justice John Roberts came to a 5-4 decision stating that the 1st Amendment prohibits Congress from making any laws that abridge the freedom of speech, and that previous laws passed by Congress were unconstitutional for not allowing companies, unions, and other collective groups from being allowed to pay directly for political ads during campaign season. It is feared by many this will lead "to drown out the voices of everyday Americans" and allow corporations to take over our democracy. Unions provide numbers at the polls, but they cannot compete with corporations when it comes to financing political advertisements and campaigns. I think this was one of the worst decisions the Supreme Court has delivered and it needs to be reversed ASAP!!! What do you think? Should the Supreme Court reverse its decision in Citizens United?
